Dr. Babak Azizzadeh is the Director of the CENTER for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery and the Clinical Chief of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Health System. He is globally recognized by his peers and patients as the foremost expert in facial plastic surgery, specializing in deep plane facelifts, facial reanimation, and rhinoplasty. Training & Accomplishments

Dr. Azizzadeh began his medical career at UCLA School of Medicine with a specialized Head and Neck Surgery/Facial Plastic Surgery residency. He completed an intensive, sub-specialized fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Harvard Medical School and served as a Clinical Instructor. After completing his tenure at Harvard, Dr. Azizzadeh joined Cedars-Sinai and was appointed Clinical Faculty at UCLA Medical School. Over time, he rose to the position of Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA and eventually became the Clinical Chief of the Division at Cedars – Sinai.

Dr. Azizzadeh has dedicated his career to improving lives through a steadfast commitment to learning, teaching, humanitarian outreach, research, and scientific innovation. He has pioneered transformative plastic surgical procedures and collaborated with Nobel Laureate Dr. Lou Ignarro. He co-founded MACRO Trials, a platform offering end-to-end infrastructure to support physicians and health institutions conducting FDA clinical trials. Dr. Azizzadeh has dedicated more than twenty years to humanitarian efforts, serving as a volunteer and board member for the Global Smile Foundation and as President of the Facial Paralysis & Bell’s Palsy Foundation. His initiatives have established the first facial nerve center in South America and have profoundly impacted numerous lives.

Dr. Azizzadeh has also organized and been a keynote speaker at numerous national and international meetings and has served as lead editor for over 10 plastic surgery textbooks and 80 scientific articles. He co-chaired the Cedars-Sinai Multispecialty Plastic Surgery Symposium for over a decade. He led the 2023 American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) Annual Meeting and the 13th International Facial Nerve Symposium. He serves as a board member for the California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery and the AAFPRS, and co-directs one of the most prestigious AAFPRS Fellowship Programs, having trained more than 20 facial plastic surgeons. Currently, he holds positions as the Western Regional Director of the AAFPRS and President of the Sir Charles Bell Society. Dr. Azizzadeh is double board-certified by The American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
